Mentor Technical Group Licensed Electrician (Perito Electricista) in Gurabo, Puerto Rico

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, 

  •  Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at state and federal levels.

  •  Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).

  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.

  •  Competent with programming of VFD’s.

  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC’s.

  •  Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.

  •  Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

  •  Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast-paced.

  •  Able to complete forms e.g. time sheets, works order request forms indicating materials used/required, times, work undertaken etc.

  •  Work overtime when required (including weekends and/or holidays).

  • Attend emergency calls outside of normal working, if available.

  •  Perform all duties in a safe and proper manner and complying with the EHS policies.

  •  Ensure that all documents are completed complying with the GMP’s practices when required.

  • Provide cover for other members of staff during holidays, sickness or other absences and in emergencies.

  • Be proactive with people, keeping them informed; maintain positive relations and demonstrate good customer care.

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

  • Technical College Electrician Degree.

  • Certified/Licensed Electrician awarded by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate equipment's, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
