PharmPix Corp Pharmacy Intern in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico
POSITION SUMMARYThe Pharmacy Intern at PharmPix is responsible for the maintenance of prior authorization criteria and will support the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee and the clinical initiatives. The Pharmacy Intern reports to the Drug Information Pharmacist. ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the provision of accurate and up-to-date drug information to a variety of stakeholders.Conduct drug research.Develop and maintain drug information resources.Collaborate with other departments to ensure that drug information is accurate and consistent.Support the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) CommitteePreparation of materials for P&T Committee meetings.Participate in the P&T Committee meetings to support minutes and voting documentation.Review assigned prior authorization criteria.Maintain professional affiliations, certifications, and professional development.Other projects and duties as assigned. TRAINING & EDUCATION For consideration candidates should be active third or fourth-year student of an accredited School of Pharmacy. LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONActive Pharmacy Intern License PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE3 to 4 years as a student in a pharmacy school PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIESKnowledge:Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices, including knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and pharmacy staff.Meticulous attention to detail.A commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and adherence to pharmacy standards and guidelines. Fully bilingual English and Spanish (preferred). Skills:Demonstrated effective organizational and communication skills. Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives. Abilities:Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with other internal departments, PharmPix clients, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to learn and convey medical information at the level of the client, member, or healthcare professional. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
