POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the IT Manager you will join the CAE IT Operations & Infrastructure Team and will be primarily responsible for the support of the IT Infrastructure (on-premise and cloud) and serve as an escalation from our IT Service Desk Team for difficult issues and projects.

An excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various technologies including Windows 10, 11, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Office 2016, SharePoint, SPO, Office 365 Apps, MS Teams Telephony, Windows Intune, Hyper-V, Microsoft Defender, SQL databases & servers, SCCM, autopilot, WSUS, VMware, Finance & CRM systems, and many others.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Configure, deploy and relocate corporate servers, storage, network and ad-hoc hardware & software

  • Perform a regular maintenance, monitoring and tuning of IT Systems

  • Conduct servers and systems repairs, upgrades, patches and installations

  • Collaborate with CAE IT staff, suppliers and contractors to troubleshoot issues

  • Analyse event logs and mitigate threats to IT environment

  • Ensure servers & computers’ critical vulnerabilities are addressed timely

  • Install, configure and troubleshoot company applications

  • Produce technical documentation and manuals

  • Manage large volumes of data (maintenance, backups, restores)

  • Ensure Disaster Recovery plan is up to date with changes to the IT environment

  • Update and periodically test Disaster Recovery procedures

  • Provide the Tier 3 IT support for the staff across the organization, including ad-hoc out of hours’ support due to 24/7 nature of the business (staff travel, emergencies etc.)

  • Occasional Tier 2 IT Support (5-10% time max) for on-site users

  • Repair and recover from major hardware or software failures

  • Provide experts advise to IT Helpdesk Admins and assist in troubleshooting major issues

  • Collaborate with other IT teams located worldwide in all time-zones

  • Ability to work on your own as well as a part of the team, and availability to do overtime, as needed (2 hours per day maximum).

  • Travel to other CAE offices may be required.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSThe ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Min. 5 years in IT Systems Admin role

  • Ability to work under pressure and high attention to details

  • Proficiency in Microsoft systems (Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server 2016, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Domain Controllers, SharePoint, Office 365, MS Azure Cloud)

  • Excellent knowledge of virtualization & storage technologies (Hyper-V, VMware or others)

  • Working knowledge of, Backup systems and scripting languages

  • Basic ability to administer switches & routers (Cisco) to troubleshoot them with 3rd party Network Support providers.

  • Working knowledge (troubleshoot & maintain) of SQL databases

  • Proven ability to assess problems and research new solutions

  • Excellent time management and self-discipline

  • Ability to work on your own as well as a part of the team.

  • IT qualifications like MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, CompTIA, Hyper-V etc.) an advantage

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills both written and verbal

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills using logic and search engines

  • Self-motivated and able to think on one’s feet unsupervised

  • Fast learning skills due to dynamically changing, fast-paced environment

  • Great patience, stress tolerance and ability to multitask / juggling priorities

  • A technical school, an IT degree or relevant equivalent experience
