Overview Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. is the largest independent, locally owned and operated Emergency Medical Service provider in Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana. We provide wheelchair transportation, Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, and Critical Care Ground Transportation; as well as Critical Care Rotary Air Transportation. Much of our proven success is attributable to the exceptional, compassionate customer service provided by our employees. Responsibilities

  • Answer, screen, and direct calls for entire company
  • Distinguish the need for emergency transportation
  • Pre-arrange transport for facilities while determining the level of care needed for the patients
  • Arrange specialty and critical care transportation
  • Provide information and assistance for customer service inquires as needed
  • Communicate with multiple departments and EMS personal
  • Provide supportive information to customers to assist them in arranging appropriate transport
  • Develop effective solutions for customer service issues
  • Direct calls to Flight desk as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Pleasant, professional phone manner
  • Detail oriented
  • Typing skills of 30 wpm or better
  • Ability to excel in high-stress environment
  • Adapt to frequently changing policies
  • Ability to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognizing when to apply them.
  • Medical background a plus
  • EMD certification will be required within 1 year of employment
