Continental Electrical Technician - Shift Based in Grimsby, United Kingdom

Dunlop Oil & Marine is a world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of hoses for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, for both offshore and onshore based operations.

Accountable for the quality and completion of planned preventative maintenance routines, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs and installation work with industrial electrical systems.

Assisting the team leader in the completion of administrative and safety tasks pertaining to the Electrical discipline.

Work in accordance with safe systems of work, procedures and statutory regulations

Ensure own knowledge of electrical regulations and guidelines is kept up to date e.g Electricity at Work Regulations and best practice electrical isolation methods.

Maintain a good standard of housekeeping and ensure the correct use of PPE for required activities and areas

Participate in safety inspections and risk assessments for maintenance activities and use of equipment

Report accidents and incidents. Isolate and lock off dangerous machinery in accordance with site procedures

Issue Permits to Work (PTW) and control activities according to company procedures

Constructively participate in safety improvements activities designed to improve the safety performance of the business

Apprentice trained technician with City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate or equivalent in electrical discipline.

Minimum of two years experience working in an industrial maintenance environment.

Knowledge of a wide range of industrial plant and machinery including AC and DC drives, PLC controls and instrumentation

Demonstrated competence / understanding of site safety systems, including permit to work procedures, electrical isolation methods & other company policies

Verbal / written communications skills

Good verbal and written communication skills.
