JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and foster a safety culture among all plant employees.

  • Coach, mentor, and re-direct personnel in the plant in order to develop Safety Leaders

  • Develop and implement training programs in a coordinated effort with appropriate plant personnel and

current manufacturing facilities.

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of all critical EH&S processes, programs, and

procedures.

  • Set and accomplish critical metrics regularly to ensure continuous improvement in the processes that

lead to an engaged safety culture on the floor.

  • Recognize employee accomplishments and contributions.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance of all environmental permits and processes.

  • Stay up to date on Federal, State and local safety regulations/ laws and ensure compliance.

  • Effectively converse with Federal, State and local agencies to ensure compliance and forge positive

relationships with regulators, as necessary.

  • Provide expert technical support in identifying, and resolving, critical regulatory issues.

  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and programs.

  • Inspect working conditions to ensure all activities are compliant with safety guidelines.

  • Support and maintain EHS activities and record keeping requirements.

  • Identify and mitigate ergonomic hazards.

  • Prepare reports detailing inspection results.

  • Report out to C Suite weekly and monthly on EHS metrics and containment/mitigation plans

  • Conduct periodic emergency drills to gauge employee readiness.

  • Address any workplace-related health issues and accidents.

  • Assist HR with the preparation of workers compensation documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or relevant field of study

  • Minimum 10 years" of progressive manufacturing safety experience.

  • EHS background with automation/manufacturing experience

  • OSHA 30 hour - General Industry certificate.

  • Must have broad knowledge of OSHA and local safety regulations/laws.

  • Extensive knowledge of appropriate emergency protocols and procedures.

  • Knowledge of legal repercussions of workplace injuries/accidents and strong leadership skills.

  • Must be willing to adept at conflict resolution and finding consensus in challenging situations.

  • May work various shifts as needed and will be requested to travel to different locations.

  • Must be willing to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.

  • Able to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight

spaces.

  • Must have a good eye/hand coordination and the ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.

  • Must wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.

  • Willing to work with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.

  • ISO 14001 and 45001 experience is preferred

  • Automotive / EV background preferred
