Spectrum Principal Engineer I in Greenwood Village, Colorado

TITLE: Principal Engineer ILOCATION: Greenwood Village, CO

JOB SUMMARY:Monitor alarms and tools to verify potential outages or utilization issues. Prioritize, respond, and resolve incidents identified in ticketing queues within expected SLA. Track work via updates within the remedy ticket system. Troubleshoot and implement CORE Networks, Backbone Networks as well as Optical networks with an emphasis on OSI Layers 1 - 4. Create Method of Procedures and review for CBO change request (CRQ) execution. Coordinate, execute, and support projects with internal and external departments to improve customer satisfaction. Report information related to outages and network changes and produce clear and concise written analysis and reports. Act as a technical liaison for the department. Act as a technical escalation point within the department. Coordinate with internal and external partners to manage, maintain, and improve network operations. Communicate with executive leadership on high-level impact analysis. Utilize technical knowledge to support, maintain, and troubleshoot Charter’s national network. This position does not directly supervise team members, and instead the position's supervisor, Manager, Telephony Engineering, manages the team.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 2 years of experience configuring and troubleshooting of video processing and transport and delivery systems of various types including Linear, VOD/SDV, IPVOD, and Video controllers. 2 years of experience with network engineering design, implementation, monitoring, escalations, and management for local and wide area networks to ensure maximum uptime for users. 2 years of experience using ticketing and software tools including Remedy, Incident portal, Jira, and Service Now. 2 years of experience with network protocols, including use of IPv4 and IPv6. 2 years of experience with network routing, including use of OSPF, BGP, and ISIS. 2 years of experience with network firewalls and ports, including use of IPF, iptables, and subnets/prefixes. 2 years of experience with critical service delivery protocols, including DNS, DHCP, TFTP, and NTP. A hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement is available.

Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at$110,800per year.

The pay for this position has a salary range of$110,800.00 to $196,400.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
