Spectrum Network Engineer IV in Greenwood Village, Colorado

Under limited supervision, the Network Engineer IV will be responsible for performing triage and advanced technical analysis of escalations related to Fiber-To-The-Premise (FTTx), iCMTS High-Split and Distribute Access Architecture (DAA) platforms, including hardware and software associated with the Converged Interconnect Network (CIN). As a Network Engineer IV, you will be exposed to new technology and work on a highly technical team within sustaining operations and assist in the planning, deployment, activation and support of access network platforms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively assists in troubleshooting complex network, optical and hybrid fiber-coaxial events, including high-priority customer-impacting outages and impairments.

  • Performs advanced technical analysis of escalations related to the access network and partners with internal verticals and platform vendors.

  • Supports the deployment and activation of access network hardware and software across the network while adhering to corporate change management policies.

  • Prepares technical documents and presentations used by project managers to communicate technical-level data to leadership.

  • Assists with the development and documentation of technical standards, technical guides and other technical documents to be used by internal engineering teams.

  • Works on one or more projects as a team member and/or project lead.

  • Performs other duties as requested by Manager.

BASIC/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum six (6) years of Data Network Experience

  • Must be able to work the following shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM and on-call rotation, as necessary

ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications

  • Data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport)

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Advanced knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols

  • Advanced knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology

  • Knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model

  • Advanced knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.

  • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly

  • Advanced knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliances

  • Ability to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculator

  • Advanced knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio

  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

PREFFERED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP

  • Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP)

  • Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office Environment

  • May work in Network Lab environment

  • 24X7 Network Operations environment. Depending on business group, on-call work may be an essential function of the job.

  • Occasional travel as required

The pay for this position has a salary range of$88,200.00 to $156,600.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
