Join Performance Optimal Health as an Apprentice Massage Therapist. Each of our clients undergo a unique Optimal Health Assessment, allowing us to tailor their plan of care to their specific needs using a variety of our services. Our services we offer are based upon the Four Pillars of Optimal Health – exercise, nutrition, recovery, and stress management. We have highly trained professionals in all four pillars, who make the clients journey their priority.

As an Apprentice Massage Therapist, you will work closely with licensed massage therapists to gain practical experience and develop the skills necessary to provide therapeutic massage services to clients. This position offers a structured learning environment aimed at preparing you for a career in massage therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed massage therapists in preparing treatment rooms and equipment for client sessions.

  • Observe and learn various massage techniques, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and sports massage.

  • Provide support during client sessions, including preparing clients for treatment and assisting with post-session care.

  • Learn and apply proper body mechanics and techniques to ensure client comfort and safety.

  • Participate in client intake processes, including conducting initial assessments and documenting client histories.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of treatment rooms and equipment.

  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice in massage therapy.

  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Enrollment in or completion of a massage therapy program from an accredited institution.

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in massage therapy.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards clients.

  • Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of relevant coursework in massage therapy techniques and modalities.

  • Prior experience volunteering or working in a massage therapy setting.

  • CPR certification.
