Hyster-Yale Group, Inc. (HYG), a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Technical Trainer I-III at our facility located in Charlotte, NC .

What you will do:

  • Deliver our technical training programs on different platforms such as Train-the-Trainer, Instructor Led Classroom, Field Training, Webinars, Virtual Classroom, Product Launch workshops, or other training events.

  • Deliver effective learning programs at various locations.

  • This position interfaces with customers, dealers, service teams, and key stakeholders.

  • Emotional intelligence and professionalism to interact with team members.

  • Technical ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.

  • Expertise in specific topic areas and mechanical comprehension.

  • Presentation and facilitation skills are required in this position.

  • Responsible for delivering programs consistently across Hyster Yale Group dealers and internal service teams.

  • Trainers will also function as Subject Matter Experts for development and revision of materials.

  • In this role the Trainer will provide the expertise in product and technical areas which enhance the credibility of program offerings.

  • It is expected that the Trainer will keep their skills sharp and stay up to date with Hyster Yale Group products by attending product launch meetings, and service roundtables.

  • The Trainer will understand and support adult learning theory and work with the development team this into all training materials.

  • Reinforce all aspects of learning and facilitation to develop a continuing education mentality across all learning platforms.

  • Reinforce hands on learning with product exercises.

  • Expected to be an advocate for the developmental solutions provided by the department.

  • These solutions may take the form of additional training days, developing additional training materials to printed materials, custom projects, or other solutions as the need arises.

  • The Trainer will continued provide support of new products using a blended learning approach.

Skills, Experience & Abilities

  • Presentation skills.

  • Coaching, mentoring, and giving feedback to the learners.

  • Manage the training classroom learning experience and the student performance.

  • Deliver the information and facilitating the technical training programs in person or virtually.

What you will need:

The minimum experience and formal training for this position will be one of the following:

Level I:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 3 to 5 years with bachelor’s degree or 7 to 9 years without bachelor’s degree required of relevant of experience in product management, marketing, training, engineering, service, aftermarket, operations, and/or sales and marketing (preferably in material handing industry).

  • Training certification or similar experience preferred.

  • Lift Trucks Operations

  • Product, Industry, or Process Expertise

Level II:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 5+ years with bachelor’s degree or 9 years without bachelor’s degree required of relevant of experience in product management, marketing, training, engineering, service, aftermarket, operations, and/or sales and marketing (preferably in material handing industry).
