Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Senior Embedded Software Engineer based at our Product Development Center in Greenville, North Carolina .

What you will do:

  • Develop and Evaluate Designs: Create and assess design concepts that drive project decisions and provide strategic system direction.

  • Software Development: Design, develop, and evaluate embedded software architecture components, assemblies, and systems that are modular scalable, and reuseable.

  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead project teams and provide guidance to ensure project deliverables are met.

  • Innovation: Leverage technological advances to align with the corporate vision.

  • Documentation: Prepare design and evaluate documentation to support the marketing, manufacturing, and service of products.

What You Will Need:

  • Education: B.S./M.S. degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience: 7+ years of related industry experience.

Skills, Experience & Abilities:

  • Embedded Software Development : Expert proficiency in embedded software programming, particularly with low-level C languages.

  • System Architecture : Experience architecting complete systems on bare metal hardware, including systems interfacing with motors or similar hardware.

  • Vehicle Networks : In-depth knowledge of real-time control networks, including CAN-based vehicle networks.

  • Technology : Mastery in engineering analysis, vehicle/automotive technology, and manufacturing technology.

  • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) : Experience with RTOS, I2C, and SPI for embedded systems.

  • Software Version Control : Experience working with version-controlled software, particularly SVN.

  • Control Systems : Knowledgeable in modeling control systems and algorithms using tools such as Matlab and Simulink.
