Implement the Sprout parent-education hybrid program with caregivers of preschool-age children in Westmoreland County to strengthen positive caregiving practices, stress management, and healthy lifestyle choices.  Thrive Initiative universal parenting programs conveys knowledge, skills, and strategies within three overarching learning domains: positive parenting practices, stress management, and child physical-health promotion. Program content and resources focus on "Everyday Moments," which are common parenting situations for parents with preschool-age children. Parents are exposed to research-based ideas and strategies that help them: (a) guide their child in positive, developmentally appropriate ways, (b) manage their own and their child's stress, and (c) support their child's healthy lifestyle decision. Sprout is expected to increase positive parenting practices, stress management capabilities, and the promotion of children's healthy behaviors.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: a.Problem solving ability where independent judgment may be required. b.Excellent oral and written communication skills. c.Ability to achieve goals with little supervision. d.Ability to maintain confidentiality. e.Ability to teach and facilitate parent groups.. f.Ability to accept differences of opinion and objectively find appropriate strategies. g.Machine operations could include calculator, computer, photocopier, telephone, and projector. h.Knowledge of child growth and development. i.Knowledge of a variety of behavioral intervention techniques, curriculum strategies and educational theories and philosophy. j.Ability to follow and implement a set curriculum and report progress and outcomes. k.Ability to adapt to different environments and grasp varying concepts and procedures. l.Ability to achieve goals by working independently and/or as part of a team. m.Organization and time management skills, human relations skills and observation and analytic skills. n.Possess a working knowledge of and use of the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct to guide decision making when one important value is in conflict with another.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties may include any or all of the following. This list is intended to be representative. 01.Assures project compliance in accordance with activities and processes as described in the application. 02.Develops and implements project plans, procedures, proposals and reports. 03.Prepare for each session according to the Sprout Hybrid Implementation Facilitation Manual and facilitate discussion. 04.Recruit and register parents (10-15 parents per session)from existing PIC services and the broader community. 05.Deliver the hybrid version of Sprout four to six times over 18 months. 06.Facilitate the hybrid version of Sprout curriculum. 07.Collects and distributes project data as requested. 08.Provide copies of the Sprout Parent Workbook and Syllabus. 09.Communicates with a variety of early learning agencies and individuals for the purpose of marketing and outreach of the project. 10.Attend meetings and seminars as a representative for the corporation. 11.Additional responsibilities as assigned or required.
