POSITION TITLE: Senior Adjustor

 

POSITION DUTIES: Direct supervision of allocated machines. Achieve production targets by managing equipment. Productivity Optimization -- Shorten technical process times including make-ready times and change-over times. Train personnel to improve technical problem-solving skill sets to improve independence in machine operation to decrease burden on Adjusters and Senior technical staff. Coordinate with the Production Manager on daily, weekly and monthly production schedule encompassing targets, schedule revisions and unplanned issues to achieve the assigned targets on allocated machines. Perform electrical diagnostics in absence of the electrician. Maintain quality of the product, and operators are following the quality control procedures. Ensure preventive maintenance is done as per the preventive maintenance schedule. Communicate any repairs that need to be made with the Production Manager to determine the urgency as well as the best solution and the resources needed to get the machine back in production in an acceptable timeframe. Manage and communicate to Production Manager full repair process of equipment and resumption of production. Ensure operators are preparing all reels for change ahead of time. Be certain operator and helpers maintain orderly work areas free from trash. Communicate to Production Manager operator and floor staff performance assessments. Review production reports and keep a check on waste and productivity figures of machines. Ensure operators are filling the production reports. Ensure operators and floor staff are following housekeeping procedures. In the absence of the Production Manager, take over the technical machine related duties. Implement new projects as determined by Production Manager to improve efficiency and productivity of the equipment.

 

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or related field.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1 year of experience in the position offered or related occupation.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Envelope folding equipment; utilizing knowledge on proprietary manufacturing techniques specific to the machine industry; purchasing used equipment to rebuild and refurbish it to enhance its performance capabilities, and manage it under optimized productivity techniques such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); rebuilding machines from scratch, refurbishing and modifying machines and installation of machines; utilizing expertise in rotary cutting tools setting and maintenance; utilizing experience and training with main envelope folding machines, by both manufacturers, Winkler + Dunnebier GmbH and FL Smithe Machine Co., including Envelopes Types Training, Adjuster Training Document, Rollers belt, MOW setting, Printing Doctor Blade setting, Hotmelt Control Setting, Rotary knife setting, Main Drawing and Standard Operating Procedure and Presentation; and utilizing experience with ancillary equipment such as the waste chip collecting and baling systems, vacuum systems and compressed air systems which are in-house designs.
