TEKsystems Cable Technician in Greensburg, Pennsylvania

Description:

The Cable Technician will work with teams in new-construction commercial environments. The individual will be focused on pulling, testing and terminating Cat 5 Cat 6 and potential fiber. Most of the work will be conducted in-person from 7 am to 4 pm, This individual must possess excellent customer service skills within Group's methods. Group is looking for someone with over 1-3 years’ experience as a cable technician. This is a new construction site. Dirty with lots of work, prep, pull, hang J hooks. Skills/Education: • 1-3 years of pulling cable, punching down cable and connecting cat 5, cat6 and fiber cable. • Valid driver's license • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Interpersonal skills and customer relationship building skills • Adapts well to change, flexibility and resilience • Excellent time management aptitude and organizational skills • Proven troubleshooting skills Need full PPE gear (hard hat, boots, goggles, gloves, reflective vest) (Tools needed – screw drivers, punch down, crimpers, snips/cutters). Physical Requirements: • Working a minimum of 40 hours/week • Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs from floor to above shoulders. • Vision adequate for computer use and reading. • Hearing adequate for phone use. • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, protected-toe boots, and appropriate gloves for the task. Other equipment on an "as needed" basis may include fall protection, dust mask, respirator, hearing protection, etc. • Ability to visit construction job-sites including walking on uneven terrain, occasionally climbing, stooping, squatting and exposure to temperature extremes and the “elements” to perform site surveys and collect data for project design. • Special hazards may include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards while performing site visits.
