Description

TheSecurity Service Specialist IIIis responsible for servicing our existing customer base troubleshooting and repairing access control, CCTV, intrusion, intercom, and fire alarm systems. The candidate will have strong networking knowledge of LAN, WAN, and mesh networking connected to a local or remote server, or cloud based system. The Service Specialist III will have strong verbal and written skills to keep the customer and the office informed of the status of the repair, and a strong work ethic to work independently or as a team reporting to the Service Field Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work the systems they are comfortable with, but also systems they have limited to no experience on and use those same troubleshooting methods and critical thinking skills to take care of the customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

  • Mentor and develop peer Service Specialists assigned to your team with lesser knowledge and experience
  • Interface with customer personnel developing relationships and demonstrating systems; providing training as needed
  • Use technology to document not only the status of the repair, but record video clips or pictures into the system as a means to provide the office with a visual representation of the before and after of the repair in case the customer were to call and ask questions.
  • Use technical manuals, your peers, and interface with manufacturers technical support to troubleshoot problems
  • Complete small add ons for the customer and bill for those services.
  • Able to determine maintenance versus non maintenance, or out of warranty repairs and bill when needed while informing the customer up front of the charges before initiating those repairs.
  • Wiring, either repair or new of our installed systems shall conform to NEC70 or any other applicable codes and standards
  • Able to run horizontal and vertical EMT, ENT, or rigid conduit per NEC70 for repairs out in the field
  • Read and review architectural drawings, customer site specific specifications, and installation manuals from the original installation to determine the best method for the repair
  • Use test equipment such as multimeters, cable testers, and toners to test and repair circuits and sensors while following wiring and system specifications
  • Provide daily and weekly reports to Brady management
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required to support the needs of the business
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practices
  • Collaborate with all Associates to uphold the companys mission and values
  • Travel 20% of the time as required
  • Must be able to work overtime/weekends as required
  • Must be able to work an on-call basis periodically
Qualifications

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school or general education degree (GED)
  • 4+ years of maintenance or installation experience in security systems or relevant field
  • Knowledge of networking LAN, WAN and mesh devices
  • Familiarity withIPv4 and IPv6 IP addresses, MAC IDs, and how they interact with servers and field devices
  • Configuring network devices
  • Configure unmanaged network POE switches, and work with managed switches with the customer IT department
  • Familiarity with applicable software such as
    • CCTV: Exacq, Milestone, Video Insight, Avigilon, or similar systems
    • Access Control: Open Options, Software House, Amag, S2, Kantech, Brivo, or similar systems
    • Fire Alarm: Firelite, Vigilant, EST, Simplex, Autocall, or similar systems
  • Proficiency with computer devices (including smart phones) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Apple iOS software
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • Must possess North Carolina Alarm Registrant within 30-days of hire
  • Must possess OSHA 30
  • Must possess 3 or more manufacturer cer ifications in access control that are current
  • Must possess 3 or more manufacturer certifications in CCTV systems that are current
  • Must possess 1 or more manufacturer certifications in intrusion detection systems that are current
  • Must possess 1 or more manufacturer certifications in fire alarm systems that are current
  • Ability to pass a background check for North Carolina State Alarm Licensing
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility

The physicaldemandsof the position include:

  • Occasional sitting; frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing; and constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping.
  • Material handling demands include lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. and frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., placing the position in the Medium Heavy Physical Demand Classification (PDC).
  • Ability to carry, set up, and work off A-frame and extension ladders.
  • Must be able to talk and hear.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and possible extreme weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, electrical equipment and wiring. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock (high voltage); and vibration. The associate is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
