Description

We are looking for an In House Counsel to join our team located near Greensboro, NC. The In House Counsel will provide legal support to senior management and business teams, manage litigation, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role is also responsible for legal research, document negotiation, and updating data security and privacy policies.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal and business advice to identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance, including trade practices and data security

• Support the resolution of disputes and manage arbitration and litigation

• Perform legal research and review documents relating to various matters such as corporate issues, data protection, technology, intellectual property, and sales/marketing

• Negotiate documents related to technology outsourcing, procurement, software licensing, and data and technology services

• Update, review, and implement data security and data privacy policies and procedures to ensure proper data collection, use, protection, and retention processes

• Monitor legislative developments, court decisions, and regulatory changes related to technology, trade practices, and corporate legal matters

• Collaborate with key stakeholders on data security and privacy issues and provide education on policies and procedures

• Evaluate the impact of U.S. and international legal developments involving digital marketing, technology, data privacy, and security and advise on responding strategies

• Respond to customer, employee, and regulatory privacy and data security inquiries and requests

• Provide legal advice and support to the IT organization in developing policy and procedural improvements, consulting on legal issues and emerging trends related to technology

• Review, draft, revise, and approve a range of documents such as confidentiality agreements, service agreements, license agreements, technology transfer agreements, and asset acquisition agreements

• Assist with internal investigations as needed and ensure safety standards and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment

• Support the General Counsel and senior management as needed.

Requirements • Possesses a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

• Holds a current license to practice law in the state

• Has a minimum of three years experience in a law firm or corporate legal department

• Demonstrated expertise in Data Privacy laws and regulations

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• High ethical standards and professional integrity

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

• Willingness to continue professional development and stay updated on relevant legal changes.
