What you will do

As an Experienced Braking Systems Engineer for Chassis Engineering, you will contribute in engineering activities related to braking system development. You will work cross-functionally with other departments to deliver engineering solutions to dynamic problems and implement those solutions, as fit.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting resolution of technical product quality issues.

  • Contributing to technical product quality issues and making technical decisions on subsystem/component level with global and cross-functional alignment.

  • Leading engineering releases and reviews and approving engineering documentation and deliverables.

  • Ensuring new designs fulfill business objectives as well as Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Feature targets.

  • Engaging in networking across the organization, as well as influencing the work in other sites.

  • Participating in component releases to resolve maintenance issues or secure project deliveries.

  • Developing modular systems and components to optimize part diversity.

  • Verifying component durability by requesting analysis and/or physical verification.

  • Communicating active project deliveries during team leadership meetings

  • Integrating deliveries from others and securing quality readiness before release.

  • Developing and sharing acquired competence with others on the team

Our team, Chassis Engineering, is a highly skilled function within Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) North America. We are responsible for leading the chassis development for the conventional range truck banks for Volvo Group. We develop components, systems, and complete chassis for conventional trucks as well as for electro-mobility and automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering

  • 3-5+ years of product development experience in transportation industry

  • Previous experience in a product development environment

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering

  • Understanding of heavy duty trucks

  • Previous experience in Controls Engineering

  • Knowledge of Vehicle Control Systems (i.e. Braking System)
