BAE Systems Operations Program Manager I in Greenlawn, New York

Job Description

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

The role of the OPM is to oversee and manage the programs/projects within Operations responsibility. He/she serves as the liaison amongst the various functional groups within Operations and as the single POC between Operations as a whole and the balance of the company. The OPM prepares project execution plans, identifies the technical and business resources needed, reviews status of projects and budgets against the plan, manages schedules preparing / presenting status and assesses issues and develops resolutions. The OPM is the cross functional leader of his/her program team providing technical and analytical guidance to the team. The OPM has the ultimate responsibility for cost, quality and delivery on his/her assigned programs.

The OPM holds the responsibility for new business planning in the form of S&OP planning together with the assigned program manager. The OPM is responsible for facilitating the preparation of proposal estimates for the Operations functional groups as well as supporting fact finding and negotiations when called upon to do so.

The Operations Program Manager accepts the responsibility for assuring the successful accomplishment of all program goals through the efficient and effective utilization of Operations resources.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience managing Operations performance against the baseline program plan by monitoring quality, schedule and costperformance of all Operations functions.

  • Experience utilizing Operations data, i.e. status, and present it in a clear and concise manner to Operations Management, Program Management and / or Engineering Management.

  • Experience utilizing departmental standards, generate Operational plans (i.e. Manufacturing, Sales) and schedules and utilize them to provide direction to the functional departments.

  • Active participation with project/team meetings providing clear direction to the various functional areas.

  • Good interpersonal skills required at all levels of the team, the touch personnel side, to the support functions and all levels of management up to the Director of Programs.

  • Experience with cost tracking utilizing existing tools and procedures leading to presentation of cost positions, EAC positions and variance explanations against the released budget and leading proposal development.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain.

  • Intermediate skill level of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Intermediate level knowledge of the workings of a MRP system.

  • Supply Chain or Program Management Certifications a plus.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $100680 - $171120

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
