A DIETARY AIDE is responsible for following resident menus accurately on the tray make-up line and for the proper cleaning and sanitation of soiled dishes, pots and pans. Responsibilities:

  • Cleans work areas, equipment, walls, cabinets, storage areas, and any other areas assigned in accordance with established procedures.

  • Washes dishes, cookware, flatware, and trays using approved procedures.

  • Performs food preparation tasks as assigned by the cook or supervisor.

  • Responsible for following resident menus accurately on the tray line.

  • Delivers food carts/prepared meals to the designated dining room and ensures that carts are returned to the kitchen.

  • May be responsible for assisting in serving the meals to residents.

  • Collects and removes trash and garbage as necessary.

  • Delivers nourishments to nursing units and/or resident rooms as required.

    Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED/TASC equivalent is preferred for Dietary Aide positions. Student Dietary Aides currently enrolled in a high school program need not have a diploma.

  • Must be able to meet health assessment requirements, including required testing and health documentation.

  • Ability to lift 60 pounds if necessary with the ability to sit, walk, bend, and twist. Ability to engage in repetitive motions for extended times required.
