About the position:

We’re looking for a Regulatory Compliance Engineer to assist in commercialization of new products and sub-systems. You will:

  • Utilize a proactive, systems engineering approach to problem solving.
  • Serve as main point of contact for teams involved in Functional Safety for industrial warehouse products.
  • Work closely with the Regulatory Compliance Manager and product development teams to ensure Functional Safety standards are implemented through project lifecycles for mechatronic/electronic products.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in U.S. and Europe to develop an efficient approach to apply Functional Safety standards to our North American warehouse logistic products.
  • Investigate new technologies related to automated material handling products.
  • Provide industry regulatory guidance for new product development teams. Participate in design reviews for risk analyses and test plans.
  • Works with cross-functional groups to support a Lead Engineer and/or Program Manager.
  • Work with external suppliers and outside professional NRTLs to assure industry compliance.
  • Keep manager informed of progress, changes, priorities, issues, and project status.
  • May recommend changes in project direction in response to changing regulatory requirements.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines.
  • Travel to customers and suppliers as required.
  • Support Application Development team in development, planning and execution of validation testing.
  • Support team with providing training material to bring staff up-to-speed with ISO 13849
  • Identify training gaps and needs related to functional safety methods and objectives through discussions with engineering management.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with strong functional/product knowledge in the areas of electronic systems and functional safety.
  • Attention to details and an ability to train others.
  • Candidates with less experience would be considered based upon experience and skillset.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience in application of IEC 61508, ISO 13849, or ISO 19014 industry standards.

  • Excellent organization and planning abilities.

  • Superior interpersonal, communications and listening skills.
  • Ability to present technical material to a technically diverse audience.
  • Competent in applicable PC applications.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

About the total compensation package:

Salary - $92,000 - $106,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Relocation – This position may qualify for relocation.
