Houck Services, Inc., one of the area's leading Commercial and Industrial Specialty Contractors, is looking for sheet metal roofers to join the Sheet Metal Roofing Department. Experience of 3 to 5 years is required.

Job Description

Summary/Objective

Understand all aspects off roofing basics and processes as it relates to the installation of sheet metal. Fabricate and install all types of sheet metal for all roof types.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Understand roof basics and processes.

• Comfortable with extreme heights, walking purlins/steel, and steep slopes on roof structures.

• Have ability to operate standard roofing equipment (buggies, generator, tractor, etc.).

• Efficiency in installation such as gluing and rolling out EPDM products.

• Understand and implement safe working practices in the shop and out in the field.

• Own and have a proficient use of the following: tape measure, combination square, snips (right and left), hand seamers, pop-rivet gun, utility knife, and chalk line.

• Able to solder safely and effectively with iron weights and proper furnace temperatures.

• Able to fabricate and install coping, gravel stop, gutters, downspouts, through-wall flashing, counter flashing, penetration flashing, etc.

• Cleans construction site to eliminate possible hazards.

• Understanding of installations on shingle, EPDM, heat-welded, cold process, and hot applied roof systems.

• Able to install Butler roof systems, standing seam, mechanically seamed, copper flat seam, wall panels, soffits, and trims.

• Removes snow and water from roofs as required.

• Loads and unloads truck as required.

• Erects scaffolding, sets up ladders, or works out of aerial equipment to work above ground.

• Receives instructions from supervisor.

• Abides by all OSHA and Houck safety guidelines.

• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
