Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Greencastle Service Supervisor oversees operations on all Service projects from beginning to end with a focus on efficiency of operations, meeting deadlines and remaining within the budget. This position assists with managing the field workforce in the daily operations including hiring and terminations.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in all Roofing Department Meetings and Operations Meetings to include review of upcoming work schedules.

  • Reviews required equipment and labor needs with Account Managers/Service Coordinators for all assigned projects.

  • Coordinate contacting customers about scheduling as needed.

  • Facilitates pre and post job meetings for all projects over 150 hours. To include Account Managers, Foreman and helpers.

  • Ensures the crew leader has the appropriate materials and equipment on the jobsite to accurately complete each project.

  • Monitors project hours, costs and reviews with Account Managers.

  • Monitors job completion and advises Account Managers/Service Managers so billings can be timely.

  • Coordinates and manages jobsite deliveries and subcontractors to include maintaining jobsite records as needed.

  • Visits jobsites daily to ensure safety measures, quality control and efficiency.

  • Conducts pre-inspection of roof work completed on which a manufacturer’s warranty will be issued.

  • Works in coordination with corporate Safety Director to make sure safety requirements are met.

  • Reviews time daily to verify hours worked and travel pay to correct inaccuracies.

  • Ensures that field employees are effectively maximizing their time on the jobsite.

  • Assists with reassigning and restructuring crew rosters as necessary.

  • Conducts yearly reviews, evaluates annual performances.

  • Assists in evaluating field employment applications and selecting candidates for hire.

  • Investigates customer complaints and take remedial action when necessary and assure the customer’s expectations are being met.

  • Provides back up to operations supervisors if needed.

  • Stays current on roofing products, techniques, concepts and methods.

  • Flexible to change and acts as a team player.

  • Abides by all OSHA and Houck safety guidelines.

  • Understands that the Service Department is a 24/7 operation and may need to work after hours and on weekends per the customers needs.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position supervises field employees in the Greencastle Roofing & Service and assists with hiring and termination authority.

    Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma(Vo-tech preferred) or GED

and/or

  • Seven to ten years of roofing construction experience.

  • 3-5 years of service scheduling

    Travel

    Ability and flexibility for occasional travel is expected for this position. A current drivers’ license is required.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on site at construction locations. The use of computers, Ipads, printers, cell phones, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines is required. Other functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard outdoor work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers and phone conversations. Often work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials and equipment.

    Physical Demands

    The described physical demands below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Coordinate movements of two or more limbs together while sitting, standing, or lying down.

  • Ability to climb, lift and set up an 80lb. ladder and pull a 40lb. ladder to higher levels.

  • Work outdoors.

  • Sit or stand for significant periods of time (4-8 hours).

  • Typing on and looking at a computer.

  • Talking on the phone/cellphone.

  • Ability to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time and throughout the workday.
