Science Systems and Applications, Inc. Intern: Using SPSA for Parameter Tuning in an Earth System Model in Greenbelt, Maryland
Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking a Graduate Intern to support an exciting project at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) for the summer of 2024. We are looking for an intern to help develop a Simultaneous Perturbation Stochastic Approximation (SPSA) based workflow for optimization of model parameters in a NASA Earth System Model.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate Sudent, Background in Physics and/or Earth Sciences;
Interest in Scientific Programming
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Good communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in Numerical Methods

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
