JBS USA FABRICATION PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT in Green Bay, Wisconsin

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of Fabrication floor

  • Oversees efficiency through monitoring production, scanning make-sheets, and discussing daily goals with Supervisors

  • Directs Supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates

  • Handles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible, working closely with Human Resources department as necessary

  • Maintains acceptable yield levels on all products while producing product to specification

  • Perform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issues

  • Help develop the management team of the Fabrication floor through active participation in group meetings, line meetings and supervisory meetings

  • Trains and develops supervisors providing guidance on managerial and teamwork skills to attain department objectives

  • Works closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure all product quality and food safety standards are enforced

  • Ensure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement is understood and enforced

  • Must maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and help address any USDA regulatory issues

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures

  • Communicate to all levels within the organization any issues involving the Fabrication Floor

  • All other duties as directed by Operations or Plant Manager

Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required

  • Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience working in meat processing plant, preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with Kronos and SAP systems preferred but not required

Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, problem solving skills and leadership qualities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaboratively

  • Extensive knowledge of meat products, equipment and specifications

  • Must be able to work in a very cold, damp and noisy environment with possible slick floors and frequent exposure to knives, hot water and production machinery

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including some Saturday work

  • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time and lift upwards of 60 pounds

  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required
