The Engineering Specialist is responsible for condition based maintenance (CBM) programs in the Power Generation Business Unit, Monitoring and Diagnostics (M&D) group. M&D provides machinery health monitoring of power plant equipment. The assessment technologies used in monitoring and diagnostics include, but is not limited to: vibration analysis, machinery lubrication analysis, rotor balancing, thermography, acoustic monitoring, and motor current signature analysis.Responsibilities:• Perform predictive and root cause analysis of problems. Determine and initiate corrective action. Document and create reports.• Apply current methods to monitor and evaluate system performance and equipment condition.• Technical and financial responsibility for planning, developing, organizing, coordinating, and scheduling a wide variety of engineering projects.• Identify and follow-up on improvement of existing programs, practices, and procedures through continuous process improvement techniques.• Responsible for the preparation of specifications and review of bids in support of engineering projects.• Interact with other business units, vendors, and regulatory agencies and authorized inspectors to ensure regulatory compliance.• Provide technical expertise, leadership, direction and training in various work groups.The Engineering Specialist position is part of the (Associate Engineering Specialist/Engineering Specialist/Senior Engineering Specialist) job family.
