Greeley, Colorado is a vibrant community of 110,000 residents with more than 27,000 youth under the age of 18. The City of Greeley Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department seeks to provide services, experiences, and spaces that promote community health and well-being for all. The Recreation Coordinator II - Youth Sports is responsible for successful management of youth sports leagues, clinics, camps, and partner programs. This person is primarily responsible for the health and success of the following areas: soccer, track and field, volleyball, out of school camps, and partnered programs. This person empowers a team of approximately?30?part-time staff, and up to 120 program volunteers at any given time to provide positive experiences in sport through thoughtful and individual-based recruitment, training, and ongoing support. Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in Recreation, or a related field required. One to three (1-3) years of recreation program development. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Current certification in Community CPR, First Aid and AED or within 3 months of hire Preferred

Spanish/English bilingual skills. One to three (1-3) years of experience coaching or officiating sports. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the planning and organization of youth sports instruction and sports safety programs. Skills in recruiting, training, supervising, evaluating, motivating employees. Ability to resolve customer complaints and escalated problems. Ability to react effectively to all potential mental, physical, and stressful situations inherent to the duties of a First Responder. Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Ability to provide outstanding customer service and get along with coworkers, patrons, and supervisors and interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner. Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities. Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal. Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems.
