Weld County Government Public Works - Mower I (Seasonal) in Greeley, Colorado

Description Seasonal weed mowing with a tractor/mower on county roads.

This is a temporary position.

Full time, working approximately 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. The schedule varies between the hours of 6:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m.

$21.38 - $27.05 per hour. Temporary employees are eligible for

Health, Vision and Dental benefits. Also, they will receive 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked. The position will normally start at $21.38 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Mow weeds on county roadsides.

Maintain all equipment daily.

Operate a 90 horsepower tractor with a 10' or 15' (foot) mower deck.

Operate a weed eater.

Sharpen blades and change as needed.

Work regularly near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places on occasion; and in constant outside weather conditions that range from occasional exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures.

Handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

Occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Qualifications Education:

High School Degree or equivalent.

Experience:

One year of experience in agriculture, particularly with the use of tractor and mower, and a working knowledge of construction activities.

Knowledge of agriculture and crops grown in Weld County.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License.

Other Necessary Requirements LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to speak, read and write the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

SKILLS:

Must have basic understanding and the ability to use hand and power tools.
