Accounting Specialist for Procurement

Description

The position reports the Accounting Supervisor for Harvest. This opportunity requires time management skills, good communication, and basic accounting knowledge. Hands-on approach and problem solving mindset are recommended.

Major Responsibilities

  • Consistently delivers timely and accurate reports, and information as needed

  • Process cattle lots as they arrive on site

  • Maintain SOX compliance when handling and storing lot details

  • Assist Accounting Supervisor with livestock reporting

Detailed Duties

  • Collect lot paperwork from the livestock office

  • Verify all incoming CPS lots for accuracy

  • Verify the branding is valid for the lot

  • Work with Harvest Floor to move drives through the Shop Floor program

  • Process condemn head paperwork from USDA

  • Maintain orderly files in compliance with SOX

  • Assist the Accounting Supervisor with audits

  • File and recall lot paperwork as needed

  • Help drive cost savings and Process improvement for the area

Required Qualifications

  • A high school degree or GED, some college preferred

  • Have 2 - years of related experience (or schooling) in accounting operations

  • 10-key for speed and accuracy

  • Basic understanding of logistics and terms like FOB, CWT, Tare, and NET

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

  • Base pay $22.75/hr
