We are seeking a talented Director, Video Production who possesses an exceptional ability to tell captivating stories through video. Essential Functions

  • Storytelling Expertise Across Channels: Possesses a profound ability to craft compelling narratives tailored for a diverse range of platforms and audiences, including websites, social media, and beyond. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of adapting stories to fit the unique characteristics and audience of each channel, ensuring cohesive and engaging storytelling that amplifies the brand's message and meets strategic objectives across all digital landscapes.

  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop video content strategies that align with SGU's goals and initiatives.

  • Video Production: Demonstrates expertise in independently shooting, editing, and producing high-quality video content that aligns with SGU's brand and marketing objectives, while also possessing the ability to collaborate effectively with external agencies to enhance production value and meet strategic goals.

  • Editing Expertise: Utilize advanced video editing software to craft engaging, visually appealing, and informative videos for various purposes.

  • Interview Skills: Conduct interviews with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to gather authentic and compelling stories for video content.

  • Multimedia Integration: Integrate graphics, animations, and other multimedia elements into videos to enhance storytelling and engagement.

  • Live Video Production Proficiency: Demonstrates a deep understanding and substantial experience in live video production, including real-time content creation, live streaming strategies, and technical setup. Experience operating all video equipment, including video switchers, cameras, ProPresenter, ect. Experience with installation and system design elements. Experience with large scale LED Video walls.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including photographers, writers, and designers, to ensure cohesive storytelling across different media formats.

  • Independent Work: Manage video projects independently, from concept development to final production, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Technical Skills: Stay up-to-date with the latest video production and editing technologies , trends, and best practices.

  • Adaptability: Be adaptable to work on a wide range of video projects, from promotional content to educational materials and more.

    Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Be willing and available for occasional travel to capture on-location footage, interviews, and events.

  • Strong understanding of audio and lighting operation.

  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with diverse individuals for interviews and testimonials.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of video equipment and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

    Qualifications

  • 10+ years of proven experience in videography and video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of video projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., film production, multimedia, communication) is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Experience with motion graphics and animation.

  • Experience in video production for educational institutions or related fields is advantageous.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • This job is performed at a workstation in a positive, creative and collaborative environment that may sometimes become quite noisy.

    Hours and Travel

  • A typical work week is 37.5 hours Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.

  • Occasional flexibility in hours required to implement initiatives and execute deliverables.

  • Travel throughout the U.S. and Grenada as needed.

    The anticipated salary range for Director, Video Production is $127,500 to $150,000. The final salary offered may vary and will be determined based on factors such as the job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education of the successful candidate. This information is provided per NYS local law.
