B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc Blue Ridge Active Living Center Manager in Great Bend, Pennsylvania

B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. has an employment opportunity for an individual who is self-directed, takes initiative, and enjoys engaging older adults in fun activities. If you have a passion for working with older adults and want to make a difference in their lives, this is the position for you.

This position involves managing the Blue Ridge Active Living Center in Great Bend, PA. This is a part-time position. The Blue Ridge Active Living Center is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-2pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and schedule activities, events and group trips for older adults
  • Coordinate and lead group activities and events
  • Oversee the daily meal program
  • Work with a dedicated pool of volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, participants, volunteers and community organizations
  • Enjoy being involved in the local community

  • Empathy and patience when working with older adults
  • Creativity in designing engaging activities

Selected applicant will undergo a training program which includes Basic First Aid, CPR and ServSafe certification. This would be provided by B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc.

Selected applicant must pass a state police criminal clearance, child abuse clearance, and if necessary, a FBI clearance. These clearances will be obtained with assistance from the Area Agency on Aging, and free of charge to the selected individual.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human service, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
