Job Summary

El Centro – Latinx Success Center student worker has a general responsibility to serve as the receptionist, greet customers, answer phones, and provide excellent customer service with a smile.

Assist in the selection, promotion, and implementation of education and arts events designed to promote Latinx culture for College of Lake County students, staff, and members of the Lake County community, and assist the coordinator in promoting and marketing events.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality

Work in creating student events that will bring students to Latinx Success Center, maintain social media pages as needed and create flyers for events.

Take pictures and capture events held on and off campus by EL Centro – Latinx Success Center.

Fulfill tasks which will enhance CLC’s endeavors to increase retention and foster the educational, career, moral, personal, and social development of our students. Be a leader, friendly, supportive, dedicated, goal oriented, respectful, motivational, and enthusiastic.

Attend club/organization meetings as a supporter from the El Centro- Latinx Success Center and get to know about all clubs/organizations if work schedule permits.

Create goals you want to accomplish while working in the El Centro- Latinx Success Center office that will help your career endeavors. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualification(s)

  • Current CLC student enrolled in at least 6 hours in the fall

  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Willing to learn and be creative

  • Organized, kind and empathetic.

  • Good attention to detail

  • Cumulative GPA 2.0

  • Able to create flyers promoting events, plan events, and create calendar of events for the semester

  • Attend a MANDATORY training with supervisor

    Desired Qualification(s)

Bilingual (Spanish and English)

Experience creating flyers

Work Schedule

Flexible work schedule, M-F, some Saturdays or evenings may be needed based on events/activities. Position runs through the end of the academic year.
