Position Summary: This position is an internship within the Manufacturing Engineering department supporting eMobility projects at ZF Transmissions Gray Court. The intern will work together with the team in coordinating and implementing new equipment to to manufacture eMotors for electric vehicles. The candidate will work hand-in-hand with other engineers on the project team, including from other departments, to launch the new manufacturing lines onsite.The ideal candidate is highly motivated with a strong propensity to design, build, assemble, program, and troubleshoot devices.

Key tasks:

  • Work as part of the project team to implement eMobility manufacturing lines

  • Assist project engineer with developing technical solutions for equipment

  • Develop training and operational instructions for equipment

  • Support in project tracking and readiness reviews

  • Report out to other engineers and teams on status updates

  • Other manufacturing engineering projects as required

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related programs

  • Engineering coursework in analog and digital circuits, control systems, logic, programming, and CAD systems

  • Basic understanding of automation systems and components such as: solenoid valves, sensors, motors, and other devices commonly used in automation projects

  • Ability to work under pressure while managing tight deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
