Pillar Innovations is an Industrial Solutions and Service Company with 15 years of experience in the Energy, Mining, Manufacturing, Industrial Construction, Aggregate, and Renewables Industries. The Corporate Headquarters is located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.

The general role of the Lab Technician I - Fiber Optics is building and testing fiber optic cables within the lab with an end goal of supporting field operations, meeting customer needs, and providing maximum operating efficiency. Lab Technician I - Fiber Optics will have the opportunity to apply technical expertise to a variety of situations by evaluating problems and implementing solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Identify basic Fiber Optic cables and materials
  • Learn and perform basic cable builds
  • Fill orders to include spooling fiber cable, kitting materials, assembling basic enclosures, etc.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with recording inventory quantities using Vista and Microsoft Excel
  • Organize and document warehouse stock
  • Assist with inventory control

Qualifications
  • No experience required
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to focus on tedious tasks
  • Ability to differentiate color codes
  • Basic power tool operation
  • Able to take accurate measurements with a tape measure
  • Able to follow work direction both verbally and in writing
  • Must possess verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism
  • Experience withMS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)and Visio
  • Dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude

Working Conditions

  • Sit/use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / - for extended periods
  • Twist, pinch, and pull with fingers and hands repetitively
  • Lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds when required
