Belcan is seeking a Quality Engineer for a key client specializing in the manufacture and remanufacture of diesel engines. Located in Graniteville, South Carolina, this role offers an opportunity to join an industry-leading team in the automotive and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of quality control strategies to enhance product reliability and minimize costs in the remanufacturing and overhaul of diesel engines.

  • Respond promptly to production quality issues with effective and immediate corrective actions.

  • Apply in-depth experience for root cause analysis and to devise long-term improvement strategies.

  • Assess received materials and components to determine the best processing methods based on their conditions.

  • Lead customer complaint resolutions and conduct on-site quality inspections.

  • Design and manage control plans, inspection protocols, and the procurement of measuring equipment for quality initiatives.

  • Conduct capability studies for tools, machines, and gauges.

  • Manage product launches including PPAPs, first article inspections, FMEA, and the development of key quality characteristics.

  • Support the design and enhancement of remanufacturing and overhaul processes with a focus on quality assurance.

  • Implement and oversee statistical process control programs.

  • Prepare detailed quality reports and maintain organized documentation related to project assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor"s degree in Engineering with at least five years of relevant experience; or nine years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or quality engineering related to diesel engines.

  • Deep knowledge of engineering applications, quality control, manufacturing processes, and cost management.

  • Strong analytical skills and capability to solve complex problems.

  • Proficiency in GD&T, metrology, and calibration processes.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Familiarity with ISO/QS-9000 standards and SAP software.

  • US Citizenship or Green Card required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Skills:

  • Direct hands-on experience with MTU diesel engines.

  • Expertise in gauges, test equipment, and quality improvement methodologies.

  • Automotive industry experience.

  • Completion of company-recommended training programs.

  • In-depth knowledge of product-specific information and quality requirements.
