Actalent Controls Engineer in Granite City, Illinois

Description:

Individual is responsible for performing complete system engineering for industrial automation projects. This would including component selection and sizing. Candidate should possesses knowledge of motor drives, PLCs, automation equipment, machine safety, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. This individual will be responsible for owning the project from start to finish. From initial design to component selection as well as monitoring and developing the build process. They will be responsible for debugging and programming all of their project from a PLC and HMI development. They will be responsible for interfacing with the customer throughout the project as well as travel to the site to install the project. They will be expected to be on-site for installs between 5-10 days at a time. Some projects make take longer.

Skills:

  • Plc programming/ troubleshooting

  • Allen-Bradley troubleshooting/ programming

  • Hmi

  • Schematics

  • Control systems

  • Ladder logic

  • Robotics

  • Experience with vision and/ or motion systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be available and willing to work overtime on occasion to meet customer project commitments

  • Occasional (30% or less) travel required to work on customer sites

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
