Metro Health Ultrasound Tech in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Metro Health (now the University of Michigan Health-West) is looking for - Ultrasound Tech 

Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Operations Manager the Ultrasound Technologist will perform imaging studies. The responsibilities of this position include various imaging tasks and patient care activities. Requirements:

  1. Satisfactory completion of formal ultrasound technology program in an AMA-approved school and successful completion of board registry by the ARDMS.
  2. ARDMS registry must be maintained.
  3. Preferably a member of a local & national society.
  4. A minimum of six months experience in clinical ultrasound.
  5. Should have core knowledge in para professional health care and a working knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound technology.
  6. Current BLS certification - Basic life support.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain certifications, registrations, and education requirements of the hospital, department, and accrediting body.
  2. Utilize and effectively use all Ultrasound equipment and software in the performance of daily responsibilities.
  3. Provides safe and effective patient care while performing duties of Ultrasound Technologist.
  4. Demonstrate the appropriate knowledge of all protocols and procedures.
  5. Maintain certifications, registrations, and education requirements of the hospital and accrediting body.
  6. Demonstrate the appropriate knowledge of all protocols and procedures.
  7. Display consistent proficiency in using AIDET when communicating with patients, visitors, physicians, peers, managers, volunteers, internal and external customers.
  8. All other duties as assigned.
