*Hours: 2:45 PM -- 1:15 AM - Monday - Thursday *

Flexco, a leading global manufacturer, is seeking a 2nd shift Tool and Die Maker. The chosen candidate would be responsible for running a cell of our custom production machines including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance activities.

Education Requirements:

  • Journeyman card or equivalent experience

Competency Requirements:

  • Highly technical and creative ability to identify and resolve business issues independently.
  • Originates and evaluates work for self and helps others in the organization.
  • Uses advanced shop mathematics and all types of precision measuring instruments.
  • Knows safe setups and handling of all types of work.
  • Design and detail any fixture or tool required.
  • Able to answer any technical questions and address all business issues.

Experience Requirements:

  • Must have completed required schooling and labor hours required
  • Must have good trouble shooting/problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to utilize SolidWorks CAD software
  • Expert knowledge of CNC conversational programming and Esprit CAM software.
  • Must be able to build and repair dies, fixtures, and special components working from little or no detailed prints.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and skills in all aspects of the job.
  • Demonstrates excellent safety practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift 20 lb. floor to waist frequently; 50 l floor to waist.
  • Stand all day
  • Push/ Pull maximum of 50 lbs. 100 fee
  • Trunk Rotation 45 degrees from the midline in both directions 
  • Reach less than 18 inches from midline both directions
  • Squatting to service machines frequently.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build special equipment as assigned
  • Plans, designs, constructs, or repairs a wide variety of highly intricate and complicated tools, dies, jigs, gauges, fixtures, and molds to extremely close tolerances.
  • Typical work products include combination dies for parts of irregular contour, index milling fixtures, drill jigs with difficult locating or nesting features, and complicated foot press and arbor press tools.
  • Perform machining and assembly of prototype work as requested by engineering.
  • Work with hook any team to identify and solve problems that are affecting production and repair as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping and minor maintenance in assigned areas.
  • Follow all established department rules, safety rules, company rules and participate in continuous improvement programs and suggestion program as required.
  • Do all paperwork and/or documentation as required.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by Department Lead.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and suggestion system as required.
