Corewell Health Physician - Urogynecologist - Grand Rapids, MI in Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Women’s Health Service Line at Corewell Health, in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Urogynecologist to join our highly productive provider team of 4 FPMRS physicians, 2 MIGS physicians, and 3 Advanced Practice Providers. The practice is looking to add a BC/BE FPMRS physician with excellent diagnostic and surgical skills who is patient-centered, collaborative, and has a strong desire to teach residents and medical students.

In the division of Gynecology, we house an innovative Women’s Health and Wellness Center that integrates evidenced based care across disciplines for women. Additionally, we offer a combined care clinic with colorectal surgery and have collaborative relationships with gynecologic oncology, minimally invasive and complex gynecology, pelvic floor physical therapy, nutrition, psychotherapy and counseling, and, midlife, menopause and sexual health.

With that, we are looking for physicians with an interest in clinical care as well as a strong desire to be involved in academics and research. We offer the opportunity for an academic appointment, as this role includes teaching residents and medical students through Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine. Grand Rapids, Michigan, the second-largest city in the state, is an urban community based in West Michigan, only 35 minutes from the shores of Lake Michigan. Essential Functions

  • Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.

  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.

  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.

  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.

  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.

  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.

  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.

  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
