Aerotek Maintenance Technician in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan

Job Title: 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This is a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician position from 2:55 PM to 11:00 PM, working Monday-Saturday, with possible Sundays. New hires will be on 8-hour shifts. This individual will be responsible for a variety of mechanical repairs on Plastic Injection presses and assembly equipment. These repairs will include working with laser sensors, cylinders, pneumatic valves, hot plate welders, light curtains, proximity sensors, heater probes, pin stamps on assembly equipment, pressure switches, bowl feeders on assembly equipment, and air compressors ranging from 100-150 horsepower. Additional responsibilities include working on Fanuc robots and press top robots (SEPRO, RANGER, AUTOMATED ASSEMBLIES, AEC), troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC controllers, and making minor edits if necessary. The technician will also focus on load cells, intelligent actuators, troubleshooting vision systems, automated screw guns, bowl feeding/blow feeding, variable frequency drives (VFDs), laser printers, proximity sensors, and wiring.

Work Environment

This is a very clean tier 2 automotive supplier. All material is run underground to keep the facility clean. Most of the assembly is located towards the front and right side of the facility, while the back is dedicated to plastic injection processes. The company is moving towards more vision systems and upgrading to more robotic automation.
