UFP Industries Inc Load Planner in Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Load Planner is responsible for performing end-to-end duties in the following areas:

Responsible for assigned inbound & outbound transportation needs + cross-trained to cover all plants w/in the HUB

Allocating, tendering, and scheduling of loads Accountable for 95% on-time performance for assigned plants

Maintains communication within the transportation team, operations, purchasing, sales, and carriers

Responsible for maintaining SOPs for assigned plants Utilize Transportation Management Systems to automate & optimize the flow of freight and manage exceptions

Works cooperatively as a member of the UFPT team to continuously improve transportation costs and efficiencies

Utilize system tools to understand market rates and trends to effectively negotiate rates

Works with carriers to provide required service and equipment to meet customer, operations, purchasing, & sales requirements and resolves related issues

Ensure all business and customer requirements for load movements are met, optimizing equipment, and managing tight timelines

Works under general direction; exercises discretion and judgment on work priority on a regular basis; and high degree of creativity is expected

Education: High School diploma or equivalent (required) Associate degree or bachelor's degree (preferred)

Experience required: 2 - 4 years of transportation experience

Experience desired: Knowledge of company policies and procedures Working knowledge of ERP and transportation industry systems

Location: Can office out of any UFP location in Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, or Michigan.
