SUMMARY

Provide support and assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment for Nursing Programs labs, including the Simulation lab, as well as collaborating with faculty to determine lab set up.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Communicate and coordinate with the Nursing Program Director and department faculty/staff regarding anticipated course/program needs for bed-labs. • Track usage and maintain current inventory lists for all equipment, supplies and teaching/learning materials used in the bed labs; both expendable and non- expendable, including instructional hardware and software. • Monitor, maintain, and stock adequate inventory of needed equipment and supplies for each nursing lab activity and /or course. • Order and maintain linen and other supplies for the lab rooms. • Monitor, track and communicate (to the Nursing Programs Director) the cost of supplies based on usage per course/student. • Maintain availability and working order of equipment and bed labs. • Track usage and assist with scheduling of bed lab reservations that will allow for a coordinated use of practice labs, supplies and equipment. • Monitor condition of instructional hardware, software and other equipment and make regular recommendations to the Director of Nursing Programs for repair and/or replacement. • Be familiar with the use of high- and moderate-fidelity patient simulators, low-fidelity manikins, and other utilized simulation and lab equipment. • Prepare necessary reports and communications; maintain necessary records and files, including but not limited to vendor transactions, purchase orders, maintenance records, other programmatic or equipment records. • Provide support to Departmental Committees as appropriate. • Attend Nursing Faculty Meetings as appropriate. • Other duties as assigned by the Nursing Programs Director

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education Credentials

• Associate's degree in health-related field preferred. • Knowledge of Nursing Licensure in Michigan preferred. • Familiarity with Nursing Accreditation preferred.

Work Experience

• One-year related experience required.

Skills

• Must be proficient in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively and professionally with diverse populations. • Demonstrated ability in excellent customer service skills is required, even under stressful conditions. This includes effective communication and a pleasant, helpful manner in person, on telephone, and/or through written communication. • Proficient computer skills/MS Office/Excel preferred

Physical Demands

• Ability to squat, pull, push, stand for extended periods, bend at waist, sit, lift and move up to 25 pounds. • Ability to traverse throughout the building, including lab rooms and navigating around lab equipment.

Mental Demands

• Ability to organize work, handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet timelines in a multi-project environment with minimal supervision. • Project a professional image including punctuality, positive attitude, and steady attendance. • Must be able to use good judgment
