Part Time, 12/HR shifts 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. 6- Core week schedule, $17/HR.

Job Summary

The Human Milk/Formula Technician position is responsible for the preparation, distribution, inventory, and management of Human Milk (HM), Donor Human Milk (DHM) and infant/pediatric formulas. Ensures safe feedings for patients in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Essential Functions

  • Interprets physician and Registered Dietitian orders for feeding. Scans all human milk, donor milk and formula additives into EPIC to mix accurate feedings.

  • Utilizes electronic medical record and other software programs.

  • Cleans mixing tools and work area. Monitors stock of supplies and expiration dates.

  • Prepares formula and breastmilk mixtures using aseptic techniques in a clean area. Considers allergens and prevents cross-contamination.

  • Uses techniques and tools to precisely measure liquids and powders.

  • Follows standard work to maintain patient safety.

  • Delivers prepared feedings to nursing units.

  • Collaborates/communicates with other Human Milk & Formula Techs, Lead Techs, Registered Dietitians, nursing staff, and patients' families.

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred Associate's Degree or equivalent College level courses in Nutrition, Health, or Science related field

  • 1 year of relevant experience relevant area Preferred

  • CRT-ServSafe Handler - NRA National Restaurant Association 30 Days required
