Job Title: Service Elevator Technician

Shift: 1st Shift

Pay: $18-25/hr (Based on Experience)

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

JOB SUMMARY

This individual will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the elevator industry. This consist of but not limited to the servicing, maintenance, installation, teardowns of elevators and related equipment. Individual will be traveling to regional locations (mostly throughout the state of Michigan) to complete various projects. Travel will typically consist of no more than a 2-3 day project. Will always be back on weekends.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery/equipment (commercial elevators, freight elevators, traction elevators and chair lifts)

  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance

  • Performing mechanical and electrical maintenance

  • Hydraulic maintenance (controls, clamps, pumps, and lines)

  • Pneumatic maintenance (controls, clamps, pumps, and lines) Electrical maintenance (low/high voltage, motors and wiring)

  • Use of prints as needed (blueprints and schematics)

  • Troubleshooting of controls

  • Responding to service calls (checking safety circuits, and fire service testing)

  • Fabrication and welding

  • Working in both commercial and residential environment

  • Traveling for projects regionally (multiple night stays for some projects)

  • Use of company vehicle for travel (valid drivers license with good driving record)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in direct industrial/commercial/residential maintenance

  • Strong mechanical aptitude (experience working with hydraulics and or pneumatics)

  • Prior experience installation equipment or maintenance on equipment

  • Preventative maintenance

  • Able to travel and do multiple night stays for projects

  • Clean driving record

  • Performed customer service

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds properly

  • Must possess sound problem-solving skill

  • Must be able to work well with minimal supervision

  • Must exercise team effort to achieve success.

  • Must fully understand and adhere to maintenance, safety, and quality processes and procedures
