This position creates, identifies and executes pricing strategies across all Meijer Merchandising for promotional, everyday and clearance pricing. This role also manages all price management functions, leads internal and external team members and works with all business units to maintain competitive prices and growing margins.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Support the Merchandising teams in all pricing functions and for providing competitive pricing data and market analysis, ensuring advertised pricing is delivered to stores in an accurate and timely manner and supported with appropriate signing.

  • Make recommendations for retail price changes by utilizing a price optimization system, pricing rules and other input variables.

  • Oversee the overall competitive pricing operation and overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this team.

  • Develop pricing strategies to grow sales and margins while attaining a competitive position in the market place.

  • Lead a competitive pricing team to gather and validate competitive data to ensure the right prices for competitive position.

  • Evaluate competitive price data and make/recommend timely changes to secure a strong margin on the products sold.

  • Work with executive leadership to implement and monitor performance of pricing initiatives that support the company’s strategic vision, marketing strategies and financial objectives.

  • Lead strategic, cross-functional teams requiring holistic pricing perspective to create, modify or improve price methods and processes.

  • Responsible for price integrity and identifying solutions to problems that may impact customer trust.

  • Quantify and document pricing strategies.

  • Present optimized pricing scenarios and ensures pricing outcomes meet the strategic direction of the category and company goals.

  • Responsible for forecasts and plans that align to financial projections, complete understanding of pricing scenarios for presentation to senior management.

  • Determine all pricing and ensures that the pricing is applied at all stores accurately and on time.

  • Support the Merchandising teams in all shelf edge functions and ensure advertised pricing is supported with appropriate signing and delivered to stores in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Oversee the overall shelf edge signage operation and overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this team.

  • Develop strategies that ensures pricing, signage, and product information are accurate, visually appealing, and aligned with the overall merchandising strategy.

  • Work with executive leadership to implement and monitor performance of shelf edge initiatives that support the company’s strategic vision, marketing strategies and financial objectives.

  • Lead strategic, cross-functional teams requiring holistic shelf edge perspectives to create, modify or improve signage methods and processes.

  • Responsible for shelf edge signage and identifying solutions to improve efficiency and enhance the overall shopping experience through market research and technology adoption.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Economics, Finance or Marketing.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Previous proven leadership of 10 or more employees.

  • 5+ years of experience in price management, strategy financial planning.

  • Strong mathematic ability in data interpretation, forecasting, analysis.

  • Experience in using price modeling software.

  • Experience in key business drivers, such as price, promotion, assortment.

  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, Micro-Strategy.
