About the Role:

We are actively seeking a seasoned Director of Asset Management to lead and enhance our multifamily property portfolio. This executive role involves comprehensive oversight of asset performance, strategic planning, and execution to maximize profitability and asset value. You will be at the forefront of portfolio strategy, market analysis, and operational leadership, directly contributing to the company's financial and operational goals.

 

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Craft and execute asset management strategies that align with the company's objectives, emphasizing revenue maximization, cost efficiency, and long-term value creation.

  • Conduct thorough market analysis for asset positioning and potential development projects, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic direction.

  • Stay ahead of market trends and adapt asset management practices to maintain competitive advantage in the multifamily sector.

     

Financial Management:

  • Direct all financial operations related to the asset management division, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to meet or exceed financial targets.

  • Assess financial performance, identify deviation from financial goals, and implement corrective actions to achieve optimum financial results.

  • Govern major capital projects from conception to completion, ensuring they deliver within the stipulated time and budget constraints.

     

Operational Excellence:

  • Implement best-in-class operational practices to achieve superior occupancy rates, optimal rent pricing, and efficient expense management.

  • Establish robust relationships with site and regional management teams, fostering collaboration and operational consistency across the portfolio.

  • Mentor and grow the asset management team, instilling a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

     

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, marketing, and accounting functions, to ensure a cohesive approach to portfolio management.

  • Promote a culture of transparency and teamwork, ensuring that site and corporate objectives are in sync and that communication flows seamlessly.

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or related field, with an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) highly preferred.

  • At least 10+ years of asset management experience within a large-scale, multi-property environment, with a focus on multifamily residential assets.

  • Deep financial acumen with demonstrated capabilities in financial analysis, strategic planning, and performance optimization.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with a wide range of stakeholders, including investors, property management teams, and industry partners.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard property management software (e.g., RealPage, Yardi) and financial modeling in Excel.

  • Active engagement in professional real estate organizations such as IREM or NAA is an asset.
