This position has a starting salary of $50,000 per year

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to Activities staff and volunteers. Assist with staff attraction and retention efforts, including hiring, onboarding, staff development, coaching and counseling and performance management. Ensure delegation of responsibility, authority and accountability.

  • Maintain and implement policies and procedures related to center’s Activities Department. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements related to therapeutic activities.

  • Complete the activities component of a comprehensive assessment and update resident care plans based on assessment outcomes and resident preferences. Monitor and evaluate resident responses to activities and revise the approaches as appropriate.

  • Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team to evaluate the holistic Resident Centered Care needs for each resident and revise plan of care as needed.

  • Coordinate all individual and group therapeutic activities. Schedule and publish a monthly activities calendar.

  • Serve as activities program liaison to the Resident Council, the community, congregations and volunteers.

  • Participate in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives including Quality Improvement checks and month-end audits. Utilize regulatory reports to identify areas of opportunity for improvement.


Job Qualifications

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

  • Licensed in the State of Michigan as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activity professional preferred

  • Associates degree in human services preferred

    Experience

  • 2 years of experience in a comparable role required
