Description We are in search of a Controller to join our team in the Manufacturing industry, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role involves taking a hands-on approach to accounting responsibilities, leading a finance team and providing financial planning, reporting, and analysis. The successful candidate will ensure our accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and will actively support continuous improvement efforts within the company and with our business partners.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily operations of the finance department, recommending changes to the finance organization, and leading the development of staff to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.

• Collaborate with the government accounting team on accounts receivable collection activity, process improvements and metrics, and manage the related supplier relationships and payment of government payables.

• Monitor and analyze cash flow management for the company, developing improvements in forecasting.

• Support the financial planning and reporting process to provide complete, accurate and timely financial results to all audiences. Analyze actual results vs. plan and forecast.

• Demonstrate strong knowledge in cost accounting, establishing standard costing and understanding BOM creation within SAP ERP system.

• Assist the SMT and the CEO in developing strategies to meet company objectives. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards.

• Reinforce the company’s mission, pillars of belief, core values, and the quality policy.

• Design and implement a company-wide visual management system of effective performance metrics. Oversee the day to day collection and analysis of non-financial data to ensure complete, accurate, and timely metrics.

• Empower business leaders by providing them with the information they need to run the business and partnering with them in the decision-making process.

• Proactively drive continuous improvement of processes, technology, and tools to increase productivity and efficiency while managing risk and ensuring compliance.

• Collaborate with the leadership team, managers, and staff to develop quarterly, annual, and 3-year business plans for the company. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role within the Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems is mandatory

• Familiarity with DCAA is essential

• Experience with ERP Solutions is required

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions is needed

• Prior experience in Auditing is necessary

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is required

• Experience in managing Month End Close is a must-have.
