Nightingale College Clinical Nurse Instructor - PRN in Grand Rapids, Michigan

We are looking for Bachelor's Degree prepared nurses to teach clinical instruction to the nation's future nurses.

The Assistant Professor is responsible for innovative facilitation, dynamic delivery, and efficient evaluation of the nursing curriculum. The Assistant Professor uses their valuable expertise to implement and evaluate the nursing program on an ongoing basis. In addition, faculty contribute to the future of nursing by advising learners, participating in curriculum development, and performing program evaluations. Assistant Professors facilitate learning in a variety of settings to include didactic, clinical, simulation, as well as participate in other matters as assigned in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the school and nursing program. The Assistant Professor functions as a valued team member within the nursing faculty.

Position Summary

  • Participates in the delivery of the nursing curriculum in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the program.

  • Completes faculty orientation, including the online and distance modules.

  • Monitors learners' performance in accordance with course outcomes.

  • Engages with learners in all aspects of the nursing education process and evaluates the learners' potential for successful achievement in their course.

  • Adheres to partner facilities' expectations.

  • Maintains current knowledge in multiple areas of nursing practice.

  • Maintains accurate attendance and performance records of learners, and submits required reports according to published deadlines.

  • Maintains open communication with learners.

  • Attends New Collaborator Orientation and annual Flame Forward event.

  • Agrees to complete at least twelve (12) direct focused-care (DFC) activities per year.

  • Accountable for Nursing Education Services successful attainment of key performance indicators.

  • Maintains immunizations, current certifications, and immunization/certification records as required by accreditation, facility, or state board of nursing.

  • Understands and agrees the preceding is intended to indicate the general nature and level of work expected and is not to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required.

Experience Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered RN license from state of residence and ability to obtain RN licensure in any jurisdiction required by the College.

  • BSN, Earned bachelor's degree with a major in nursing.

  • Experience in teaching in a concept-based nursing program and experience in curriculum development is preferred.

  • Proficiency in at least one learning management system (LMS).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), and other technology platforms.

  • Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience

This position is on the ground teaching students at the experiential clinical learning site in Grand Rapids, MI and is NOT a remote or classroom teaching role.
