Lockheed Martin Subcontract Manager in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: MFC is seeking a Sr. Subcontract Manager for a

position in Grand Prairie, TX to perform subcontract

management duties in support of the Precision

Strike Missile (PrSM) program. This position is

responsible for negotiating prices, price/cost analysis,

and compliant procurement documentation required

by Lockheed Martin Acquisition Procedures (LMAP),

local Site Work Instructions, and Command Media.

Primary responsibilities for this position will be

focused on collaborating with the program team and

suppliers to meet customer affordability requirements

for the PrSM program. Other responsibilities will

include but are not limited to the procurement and

management of subcontracts for complex

subsystems, components, parts, and hardware in

support of program needs. Duties include:

Representing Lockheed Martin Global Supply Chain

Organization (GSCO) as a prime Point of Contact

(POC) for subcontracts or projects

Managing both minor purchase orders and complex

subcontracts, including those with Spec/SOW-driven

requirements.

Preparing and releasing Requests for Proposals

(RFPs); receiving, analyzing, and evaluating

proposals; negotiating subcontract price and terms

and conditions; selecting or recommending

subcontractors; documenting agreements; and

administering the resultant subcontracts / POs,

including subcontract / PO closeout

Negotiating modifications to subcontracts; developing

positive working relationships; and interfacing with

suppliers via phone, email, or personal visits, as

required.

Confirming and / or expediting material deliveries to support program production dates

Managing supplier relationships and supplier

performance to achieve program and customer

requirements and goals for Sales, Orders, Profit, and

Affordability.

Basic Qualifications:

Knowledge of acquisition policies and procedures

associated with FAR / DFAR requirements

Working knowledge of standard contract types

Experience with SAP based procurement system

Experience managing supplier relationships and cross

functional teams

Experience with the procurement of specialized

materials, complex assemblies, and equipment within

Defense or Aerospace industries

Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated

communication, negotiation, presentation and

documentation skills

Problem solving skills and ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters which often requires coordination between functional organizations

Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security

clearance

Ability and willingness to travel to supplier facilities to

participate in meetings and to resolve

subcontract/program issues on-site, as needed

Desired Skills:

Cross-functional knowledge of Supplier Quality and

Engineering as they relate to subcontract

management

Ability to create and present using Microsoft Office tools

Previous experience with an Earned Value

Management System (EVMS)
