Army National Guard Units SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR in Grand Junction, Colorado

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR, Position Description Number D1286000 and is part of the CO FMS 3, National Guard. The purpose of the position is to serve as an inspector of surface maintenance vehicles and equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications. Responsibilities Inspects a large variety of heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles such as attack tanks, large cranes, tank retrievers, fire trucks, bridge transporters, armored vehicle launched bridges, bulldozers, road graders, crawler tractors, power shovels, self propelled earth compacting equipment, self propelled artillery, etc. Inspects complex, interrelated mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical systems, equipment and their components while in operation or in a standby condition. Inspects equipment to determine repairs needed. Inspects the full range of equipment as described above at remote worksites in support of field organizations, field units during field exercise training periods, or before major pieces of equipment are sent for repair to a supporting maintenance facility. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-5 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems. 2. Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment. 3. Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems. 4. Experience testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems. Education Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
